About the Novya Leadership Lab

Leadership isn’t a title. It’s a practice — and it deserves dedicated time

A discussion group
The Leadership Lab is your dedicated space to step back, refocus, and recalibrate.
The Novya Leadership Lab is a three-day residential retreat for people leading associations and nonprofits across Europe. It’s your space to step back, refocus, and work on your leadership with a small group of peers who do the same job — guided by experienced facilitators, grounded in the real challenges you face every week.

This is an immersive, practice-led experience where leaders explore real challenges, test new approaches and grow through meaningful peer exchange. It’s a facilitated practice: strategic dialogue, hands-on skill-building, one-to-one coaching and honest reflection — all rooted in your own situations.
Leading an association is its own kind of work
You balance strategy with delivery, vision with operations, member expectations with team capacity, policy engagement with keeping the organisation sustainable.

You straddle staff and board, represent the organisation outside while holding it together inside. It’s demanding, it’s broad, and there’s rarely time — or a peer who truly gets it — to think it through.

The Leadership Lab was created to give you both: the time, and the company.

Three days, exploring how to lead well
The retreat moves through the essential aspects of efficient leadership, building from the personal to the organisational:

Leading Yourself: Understanding your style of leadership helps you craft a clear, actionable vision and goals for immediate use.

Leading Others: Providing you with strategies for coaching, clear messaging, and feedback tools to set real expectations with your team.

Leading Organisations: Focusing on developing your strategy, identifying key stakeholders to persuade, and how to effectively present your case.

What makes this different
The programme progresses intentionally from individual clarity to interpersonal effectiveness to organisational impact. Each part builds on previous learning while addressing new dimensions of leadership.
Built for European nonprofit leaders
Designed by and for people leading associations and nonprofits, around the real work of the job, not adapted from a corporate template.
Professional facilitation and coaching
Guided by experienced coaches and sector leaders, with one-to-one time for every participant.
A practice, not theory
You work your own real situations, get honest feedback, and leave with a plan you’ll use.
A small, focused cohort
A compact group means trust, candour, and relationships that last well beyond the three days.
The return — for you and your organisation
For you:
  • renewed clarity and confidence,
  • practical tools,
  • more energy for the role,
  • and a peer network you can lean on.
For your organisation:
  • stronger leadership,
  • better board and team dynamics,
  • smoother change,
  • and a healthier culture.
